Can i take NCLEX (Illinois board of nursing)even though Im not an RN in the Philippines? If not,is there a state that i can take NCLEX that does not need to be RN passer in the Philippines. I am an immigrant status at this time staying in Illinois.

Illinois requires verification of license, so kailangan talaga ang prc license. You can apply at california, just attach an explanation letter. See my post on how to apply at california here.

I was able to passed the NCLEX last 2008.. And my state is California.. I am still here in the Philippines and still I dont have a license because I dont have the SSN.. According to the letter that I received, my application will be forfeited after 3 yrs if I will not be able to provide them the SSN..
    Anu po ba magandang gawin?
Others say to endorse it to Vermont because they are giving the license… How about to endorse it to New York?? are they also giving license even without SSN??
haaay,,,, kakaloka na… please help naman po.. thank you

Doing a search on the web, I came across this very interesting site. Nonoy, you provide great information. Your readers might want to checkout our site at foreign-nurse.info. In the U.S., we are between a rock and a hard place. While we all admit a tremendous nursing shortage, this country is making it virtually impossible for international nurses to come and work in the U.S. And the Obama Administration has made it very clear this will not be changed. Before spending a fortune and years in the process, I’d recommend that an international nurse develop a plan as to how she will get into the country, become licensed and start working. Our program offers an interesting option.

    Thanks for a great site!

some of the information i read here is wrong…im already in the states right now.I took my NCLEX in the philippines and now im working here in NEW YORK.about the endorsement thing i dont think that its hassle and all.im a licensed nurse in california but since my family is in new york so i need to endorse my license there.i read that u know someone(a girl)that she keeps on crying coz her family is on the other side of the country and she cant go there coz she’s a license nurse in california…thats shiznit.she can still go there and work as a nurse..thats why there is such thing as endorsement..anyhoo,i process my endorsement in the philippines using a processing center near PRC..inside st.thomas square..i guess they are more specialized compare to the other center…

my views and opinions does not reflect to any of the center or to this website.

    • #26 written by Nonoy

correct rhea, as long as you are licensed in one state, you can endorse it to another. You must have read the comment of a certain visitor, which you said is wrong. Baka nga hindi siya licensed sa California even she passed the NCLEX because of SSN. Thanks for your input.

hi there sir, i find your site very helpful talaga..my concern is gusto kong malaman what states reguire a CGFNS exam and those that do not require. i have an NY application packet already, i think you dont need to be a CGFNS exam to qualify for a nurse in NY..but what states require a Cgfns exam and those that do not, im having SECOND thoughts coz i’ve heard it takes long to apply to the NY state and applying for Vermont, New mex takes faster..hope you can help me. :)

New York requires CVS from CGFNS, other states require CES. Either, you dont have to take the exam. Read about CES application somewhere in this site.

What is the difference between the Nurse Licensure Examination and the NCLEX-RN?

  • #44 written by an

Hi! I’m preparing for CVS and I have queries, hope you can help me out.

    1. I have downloaded the CVS form for NY. In the “Checklist to Prevent Common Application Form Problem”, the last item states “Applied to NYSED.” HOw do I do that?

    2. Should authorizations be notarized too? Or just the application form?

    3. For Autorization form:

I attended a school from pre school to high school. But in the form, it states primary and secondary school years, so that’s grade school-hs only. So I should just include dates from Grade school to high school?

    4. I’m unsure of the DAY of attendance to put on DATES of ATTENDANCE…what to do?

    5. Should I put a check on the “degree obtained” box in primary/secondary in the application letter?

that’s all for now. TY so much!

    • #45 written by Nonoy

      1. That’s your application to New York. You can do that after CVS.
      2. I think so, but check the form, i dont have it right now.
      3. Yes.
      4. Just the month and year.
      5. No.

hi, I’m encountering problems with my Nclex application, i wish you can help me..

I have mailed all my requirements for the application for NCLEX examination in Illinois (at Continental Testing Services) as well as the fees, I also have passed the requirements to the Professional Regulatory Commission, and I think they have already sent my requirements to the address on the file which I think is at CTS. but I have received a letter from CTS telling that I’m lacking one of the requirements which is CGFNS certificate. Do I need to take the CGFNS exam? Because I have asked on of my mentors who is a registered nurse in IL and told me that I don’t need a CGFNS. What should I do so I can take my NCLEX examination for IL?
