NCLEX Application: California Board of Registered Nursing

UPDATE Since April 26, 2010: California now requires SSN on NCLEX Application, Renewal, Retake. They won’t accept your application anymore without it. Read my post about it here.
California Board of Registered Nursing is one of the State Boards that don’t require CGFNS certification or evaluation, so it is much cheaper to apply. If you want to be licensed in California thru NCLEX Application, here are some of the things you need to consider:
- California NCLEX Application forms and instructions are downloadable from their website.
- Criminal Background Check is a requirement. Applicants need to submit filled up FBI Fingerprint Cards for checking or you can have Live Scanning if you are present in California.
- Nursing Education Evaluation and License Verification are sent directly to California Board of Registered Nursing for evaluation, must be comparable to State Board’s standard.
- They now require SSN; failure to submit means rejection of application.
- Payment of $126 is made thru demand draft, check or money order payable to Board of Registered Nursing.
- Processing time of your California eligibility ranges from 1-3 months.
If you want hassle-free California NCLEX Application Processing, I personally recommend NEAC.
NEAC Nurse Exam Application Center can provide you what states require CES, CGFNS or English Exam and also Criminal Background Check or Continuing Education Credits. Some states requires you to have U.S Social Security Number and unless you have one your application sent to those states won’t be process until you provide a SSN. good day, Nonoy. I just mailed my packets A and B recently. I realized i made a mistake in the amount to be paid. Its supposed to be 126usd for the application fee and fingercard processing, right? instead of 126, i paid 131usd. i was assuming 5 dollars was for the banks processing fee but i used my friends account in BPI and since he’s a depositor, they didnt charge any for the fee. what was written in the bank draft was 131usd. is that okay? But now her US citizen boyfriend,who resides in California, is planning to file a fiancee visa for her.
Does she still need to take the IELTS exam and process her visa screen?

You can go on taking the nclex. they will require you to submit ssn after passing.

Hi! My fingerprint card was rejected last Feb. I was able to resend my fingerprint card today lang. I already have my ATT. Now, I’m planning to call them para magpa-schedule ng exam maybe 3rd week of July. Is it ok to call Pearsonvue na to schedule my self? Or will I have to wait na mareceive nila ang fingerprint card ko? Thank you sir!

I am a 2nd-courser in the phils taking BSN & graduated just last April, 2010 I did not take the Local Board but is planning to get the NCLEX. My school has already sent my credentials to the California BON 3 weeks ago before my arrival here in Hawaii just last June 26. My problem now is the requirement on PRC license. Can I still take the NCLEX?

Hey Noy, BRN is asking me to provide them registration/enrollment form and clinical portion of transcript or RLE. How the heck can I produce my enrollment/reg forms when I graduated in ’06? And wala na ko sa pilipinas. Is it supposed to be requested from my school? What about the RLE? From school na yun diba? Kasama na ng TOR that they send? Thanks!

Sir nonoy ask ko lang po kung pedi kaya na ipadala ko sa Ca.Bon is yung photocopy ng notice of admission and verification slip na as proof na nagtake and pumasa ako sa local board sa Pilipinas and then letter na lang ng explanation na wala pa sa akin license ko kasi. pedi po kaya yun?
And Curious lang bakit tape po dapat gamitin instead na glue for the 2×2 pic sa application. and NURSING PROGRAM VERIFICATION optional po yun right?

You can submit Cert of Passing from PRC and explanation letter kung wala pa license mo.
I dont know about the tape, basta sundin lang natin. Yes optional ang nursing prog verification.

hi sir Noy! i passed the nclex-california last august 2010. Do I need to sit for the IELTS exam? I’m quite confused because from my searches, it seems Calif does not need it but then it is needed for visa screen certificate? I’m planning to go to US next year kya I want to make sure na tpos ko n lhat requirements ko b4 I do my job hunting coz mlapit na mag-expire visa ko….And another thing, may states ba n nagi-issue ng license after passing the NCLEX? Hi sir! I already send my requirements to Saipan BON (thinking i dont have an SSN), they replied saying my mode of payment is incorrect and that my documents will be hold until payment is settled. Now that I was able to get the correct check for Saipan and at the same time figured out that I have an SSN originally from Guam. What would be your best advice? Is Califonia much ok than Saipan? I sent all the required documents and payment, Packages A and B separately in October 2009. until now, which is more than a year have passed, I haven’t received any eligibility letter, any kind of notice, whatsoever yet. Unfortunately, the email address I placed there in my application was hacked, so I can’t see any email notification as well. What could be the cause of the delay? is it because there are a lot of nurses applied for the Nclex Cali? or was it because about the new rule that an SSN is required? or my email is no longer working? I dont know what else to do. Please help or please send a reply in the email address I have provided. Your reply will certainly help me and greatly appreciated.
